kerubim - autonomous

mobility for cats & humans

school project in collaboration with Yohan Benchetrit & Thomas Busson

winner for the interior category of the BMW Young Designer Awards 2018

duration: 1 month

delivery: 2019

brief: driving, once a symbol of freedom, has become a stressful daily burden for many. Autonomous shared vehicles offer a chance to bring back peace of mind and joy to mobility. The goal is to design an interior that makes people happy, through comforting aesthetics, thoughtful materials, and enriched human connection.

intention and design

We started with a simple truth: most people feel happier when interacting with cats. This inspired us to design Kerubim, not just as an autonomous vehicle, but as a shared, peaceful environment that brings together humans and cats in a unique way.

Inside, both can choose when and how to engage, creating a space of mutual comfort and spontaneous connection. Kerubim fosters well-being, interaction, and the joy of shared presence.

For people, the calm atmosphere and presence of cats offer emotional relief, encourage spontaneous conversation, and foster a sense of community.

For cats, the shuttle provides a safe, stimulating environment where they can interact or retreat freely, helping them feel secure while gently increasing their chances of adoption through natural, stress-free encounters.

Our final delivery was 4 boards, combining all of our team work.
